How do we see this working?

We're trying to concentrate on concrete next steps, and we see the immediate goal as being to figure out the long-term trust fund management. When we're sure about how the trust is sustainable, we can take this back to the expatriate community and go hell-for-leather with fundraising to prime the pump, as it were.

We envision an arrangement where the legal/financial/accounting side of things is taken care of pro bono by a committed law firm (or somesuch) who shares our ultimate goal of preserving the history of the expatriate community's contribution to the development of Japan.

The Foreign Legacy Society is a pending NPO. Until the application is processed and approved, we will “do business” as the Foreign Section Trust an unofficial group. Be aware no one can engage in activities under FLS auspices, as the auspices don’t exist. Any infringement of this could cause the NPO application to be rejected.
